At intermission everyone will receive a ballot listing the ten works from Moyse’s world-famous anthology Flute Music by French Composers with descriptions of pieces by Gabriel Fauré\, Cécile Chaminade\, and others. Audience members then vote for the pieces they would like to hear on the second half of the program. \nThe performance will take place at the Studios of Key West.

DESCRIPTION:The contemporary jazz group Otherworld is making our debut appearance at Strathmore Music Center\, giving the Washington premieres of several new tunes as well as playing fan favorites from our award-winning album. \nOtherworld is pianist Jeffrey Chappell\, guitarist Jake Kohlhas\, bassist Chris Taylor\, and percussionist Jake Marinari.  \nOtherworld has played at jazz clubs\, colleges\, museums\, and outdoor concerts around the Maryland/DC region; on Baltimore television; in live streaming across the United States; and on the radio nationally and internationally. We won a Global Music Award for our album\, “Otherworld”. \nOtherworld blends jazz\, classical\, and Middle Eastern influences. Playing original tunes on a mix of acoustic and electric instruments with an emphasis on improvisation\, the group creates a unique sound that appeals to wide audiences. \nThe event takes place in the Education Center\, which is accessed from the main lobby of the Strathmore Music Center. \nConvenient\, free parking is available in the Metro Parking Garage\, located in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage off Tuckerman Lane. A walkway connects the fourth floor of the garage to the Strathmore Music Center. \nYou can get tickets in advance here or at the door with cash\, check\, or credit card.
