He will perform in recital with flutist Karen Johnson on Saturday\, June 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the Coro della Maddalena in a program that includes the premiere performance in Europe of his composition for flute and piano\, “Aphrodite”. Also on Saturday\, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. he will lead a student/faculty jazz combo in a gig at the Caffé Savona. We won a Global Music Award for our album\, “Otherworld”. \nOtherworld blends jazz\, classical\, and Middle Eastern influences. Playing original tunes on a mix of acoustic and electric instruments with an emphasis on improvisation\, the group creates a unique sound that appeals to wide audiences. \nThe event takes place in the Education Center\, which is accessed from the main lobby of the Strathmore Music Center. \nConvenient\, free parking is available in the Metro Parking Garage\, located in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage off Tuckerman Lane.
