Otherworld at Strathmore Music Center

The contemporary jazz group Otherworld is making our debut appearance at Strathmore Music Center, giving the Washington premieres of several new tunes as well as playing fan favorites from our award-winning album.

Otherworld is pianist Jeffrey Chappell, guitarist Jake Kohlhas, bassist Chris Taylor, and percussionist Jake Marinari.

Otherworld has played at jazz clubs, colleges, museums, and outdoor concerts around the Maryland/DC region; on Baltimore television; in live streaming across the United States; and on the radio nationally and internationally. We won a Global Music Award for our album, “Otherworld”.

Otherworld blends jazz, classical, and Middle Eastern influences. Playing original tunes on a mix of acoustic and electric instruments with an emphasis on improvisation, the group creates a unique sound that appeals to wide audiences.

The event takes place in the Education Center, which is accessed from the main lobby of the Strathmore Music Center.

Convenient, free parking is available in the Metro Parking Garage, located in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage off Tuckerman Lane. A walkway connects the fourth floor of the garage to the Strathmore Music Center.

You can get tickets in advance here or at the door with cash, check, or credit card. Either way, it’s the same price of $20.
